When one reaches a point where they think they know how to direct theater, and they can handle anything, they need a little dose of humility. I got this show off a blind letter I sent to the director of the department. The guy has been so good to me and supported me so much these past several years I'll always owe him. But giving me this show and helping me find this cast was the first step. I walked in there all cocky and "I can do this." I left with my hat in my hand, knowing I still had a lot to learn as a director and more determined than ever to learn it.
